A Gilbert company, a decade in.
Outdoorscapes Design Group started in 2014 with one idea — that an ordinary Arizona backyard is usually one good plan away from being the best room in the house.
Our story
Ten years of turning ordinary backyards into something else.
We began as a small design-build outfit in the East Valley and have spent the last decade doing one thing: designing and constructing outdoor spaces for homeowners across the Greater Phoenix area. Pool and landscape design, hardscape construction, shade structures and the trades that tie them together — all under one roof, so the person who draws your plan is accountable for the yard you end up standing in.
Along the way we picked up a reputation we're careful with. It shows up in the reviews as the same three things, repeatedly: the team listened, the budget held, and the site was left clean.
Our commitment
Five things we won't compromise on.
Everything below is either checkable or something you'll notice on your own project. We've tried to avoid the parts that aren't.
Over forty years of combined experience.
Between the design and construction teams we've worked through most of the problems an Arizona lot can present — caliche, slope, drainage, tight side-yard access, HOA restrictions. Experience mostly shows up as fewer surprises.
We hold two Arizona ROC licences: 319880 (CR-21, landscaping and irrigation) and 342011 (KA-5, general residential). Every contractor on your site is bonded and insured.
Fresh ideas, tested in 3D before they cost anything.
We'd rather propose something you haven't seen on the street than repeat a template. The 3D model is what makes that safe — you get to reject an idea before it exists in concrete.
Rendering is included on every project, from a turf refresh to a full pool and ramada build.
Your designer stays with you to the last day.
The designer who takes your brief is also your lead project manager. It's an unusual structure for a company our size, and it's the single reason our clients say communication was easy.
We ask about budget early and design to it. Nobody enjoys falling in love with a plan they can't build.
Craftsmanship, including the parts you can't see.
Base preparation, compaction, drainage and rough utilities get the same attention as coping and veneer, because they're what decides how the yard looks in year eight.
Site clean-up is part of the job. It comes up in our reviews more than almost anything else, which tells you how rare it is.
Designed for the desert it's actually in.
Native and drought-tolerant planting reduces water use and maintenance. It's the practical choice here as much as the responsible one.
We aim for outdoor spaces that look like they belong in Arizona, rather than something imported from a wetter state and kept alive at your expense.
